Museum Rietberg Zurich

The Rietberg Museum is located in Zurich, Switzerland. It is unique in the sense that it is the sole museum in Switzerland that houses works of art from the non-european cultures. The collection is fascinating and includes exclusive works of art from Asia, Africa, Americas and Oceania. There is a sincere purpose to the museum. By hosting these collections from various parts of the world, the Rietberg Museum strives to spread awareness about the rich and diverse forms of art that exists beyond Europe. It is also an attempt to create curiosity in the minds of people about other cultures, religions and societies. This effort is to urge people to think how people from other places think, perceive and express their feelings through different art forms. This kind of understanding may help in dealing with the conflicts that arise due to cultural differences. Fittingly the museum is situated in one of the most picturesque parks of Zurich. An extension to the original museum has been constructed. It has been opened for public viewing since 2007. The extension just seems to have added more glory to the already splendid Rietberg Museum. This museum is a must visit for both Europeans and Non-Europeans.
